1. Gopinath Bordoloi: He was the first Chief Minister of Assam and served from 1946 to 1950. He played a pivotal role in the integration of Assam with India and was also known as the ‘Father of Modern Assam’.
2. Bishnu Ram Medhi: He served as the Chief Minister of Assam from 1950 to 1956. He was a prominent Congress leader and worked towards the development of Assam.
3. Bimala Prasad Chaliha: He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 1959 to 1970. He played a significant role in the industrialization of the state and was also the founder of the Assam Tribune.
4. Sarat Chandra Sinha: He served as the Chief Minister of Assam from 1972 to 1978. He was a veteran Congress leader and worked towards the development of the state.
5. Golap Borbora: He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 1979 to 1980. He was a prominent leader of the Janata Party and served as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state before becoming the Chief Minister.
